Alumni Welcome/Honors Breakfast & Campaign Update

9 AM – 10:30 AM | Helge Center Multipurpose Room
Join us for a light breakfast as we celebrate those alumni that have returned to campus. We will also be honoring our fellow brothers being recognized by the University and hearing an update from the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future campaign leadership regarding the drive for a new chapter house.

  • Brother Eric Bittner ’85 will be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest award bestowed by the University Alumni Association. This award honors alumni who have enhanced the prestige of the University by virtue of their character, integrity, and nationally recognized personal accomplishments.
  • Brother Mark Schwehn ’64 will receive the O.P. Kretzmann Award which honors alumni who have made a special contribution to the development of Valpo through long-time exemplary service as a University employee.
  • Brother Garry Puetz’s ’71 No. 71 will be retired as one of the first two numbers retired by the University football program and represents the most distinguished honor awarded to a former Valpo student-athlete.

Alumni BBQ

We want to know you’re on campus! Check in at the chapter house and enjoy some BBQ before heading over to cheer on the Crusaders to victory! During halftime we will also be recognizing Brother Garry Puetz, whose football number will be retired.

Alumni Reception & 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament

Join us at 4:45 for an alumni and undergraduate photo in front of the chapter house. Then, enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres while engaging with fellow alumni and undergraduates during the 3rd Annual Phi Kappa Psi Cornhole Tournament.
